WICHITA – Kansas Global Trade Services worked with the Kansas Department of Commerce and the Kansas Legislature to create a flexible grant for Kansas companies to increase international sales.
The Kansas Market Access Program eases the financial burden for small businesses to access quality international market research, export documentation and arrange meetings with foreign business partners. Based on the Wichita Region’s successful Export Accelerator Grant, KMAP will allow Kansas businesses to close more deals, diversify sales and bring new money into the economy.
The formation of this grant is built upon the success of the state’s first export plan, which was implemented June 2015 and lasted until June 2019 in Wichita. The success of the export plan was bigger than anticipated. With over $1.2 million invested, Kansas Global facilitated $36.2 million worth of new, confirmed sales. For every three cents, a new dollar was generated under the Wichita export plan.
Karyn Page, President and CEO of Kansas Global said, “From managing implementation of Wichita’s export plan we know what works best and what doesn’t. The Export Accelerator Grant an integral part of our success formula and we’re ecstatic it can now be offered to companies across the entire state.”
The Wichita export plan and Kansas Global were recognized on the national level for assisting companies to increase their international sales.
